Eng: It’s weird sitting here writing this in a space where literally no one cares about what’s happening three feet in front of my face. I’m looking out the window at the sky turning that specific, heavy shade of gray that usually means trouble for the grid, and I just saw another notification about the state emergency resources being activated. They’re calling for a major winter storm starting tomorrow, and honestly, the collective anxiety in this state is so palpable you can almost taste it. It’s funny because half the people on this forum probably think of Texas as just some desert or a backdrop for a movie, but right now it’s just a lot of people frantically wrapping their outdoor pipes with towels and foam, hoping the lights stay on this time. There’s this strange, repetitive cycle of "here we go again" every time the temperature drops below freezing. I went to the store earlier and the bread aisle was already looking thin, which feels like such a cliché at this point. I keep checking the ERCOT dashboard, even though I know it's kinda useless. It’s just one of those things where you feel like you're bracing for impact while the rest of the world—especially the people reading this—is just moving on with their day. Just want to vent a bit.
